An Hour for Earth
Tonight at 8:30 people all over the world will turn out their lights for one hour. This mass action is called Earth Hour and it's purpose is to help promote awareness of environmental issues. Can you give just one hour to help the planet? Here are some fun ideas for what to do without using power for your one hour.
- Have a candle light dinner.
- Play board games by candle light.
- Go on a walk around the neighborhood.
- Have friends over and play games like hide and go seek.
- Camp out in your backyard.
- Have a campfire and roast some marshmallows.
- Chat with your friends and family.
- Tell ghost stories.
- Check to see if there any local events in honor of Earth Hour.
- Plan what you are going to do the rest of the year to keep helping the planet.
Do you have any fun ideas for how to celebrate Earth Hour this year? Be sure to share them in the comments below!
